Assumptions and calculation
First-year total = introductory months × (intro care + intro medicine) + remaining months × (regular care + regular medicine) + other first-year fees. Monthly amounts are rounded to cents before multiplying. The average divides that total by 12; it is not a payment schedule.
Both care and medicine use the same introductory period here. If their discounts end at different times, calculate each component separately outside this tool. Enter the combined annual amount for all additional charges. This comparison assumes twelve months of care and excludes unentered charges, insurance deductible changes, discounts with eligibility rules, interest and refunds. It does not model when an advance payment is due.
